AutoCAD 每次升級改版, DWG 檔案格式都會改變, 因此若是你的朋友升級了而你尚未升級, 你將無法使用他的DWG 檔,強迫你必需跟著升級.而且你若用 2004 版以後的版本, 你雖然可以讀取 R14的檔案, 但是卻無法存成R14以前的格式, 造成跟其他使用 R14版以前的人,很不方便.
而且2004版以後的AutoCAD 實在很慢, 個人使用用 2002版速度快,又穩定,但是就是無法使用2004版的格式.
